Joan attended the St. Joseph School for the Deaf in the Bronx. She worked for New York State for several years. Joan was the President of the Northeast Deaf Senior Citizens (NDSC) for fifteen years and was well known for organizing great holiday parties. She was well known for her love of knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She recently knitted fifty scarves as gifts for the upcoming holiday party for the NDSC. Joan loved to dance, especially the jitterbug and was always the life of the party.
