QUEESNBURY – Joan Marie Liberty, 71, of The Cedars, Evergreen Lane, formerly of Lamplighter Acres, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015.
Born April 3, 1944, in Minerva, N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Mary C. (Flynn) Corlew.
Following high school, Joan was employed by the Joy Store, American Greetings and Lamplighter Acres and had many enjoyments including camping, riding snowmobiles, and NASCAR.
On August 10, 1963, she married her lifelong partner, John "Jack" Liberty Sr. in Chestertown, N.Y.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Liberty Sr.; her daughter, Tina Marie Liberty; and Aunt, Marie Corlew.
Survivors include her daughter, Joy Elms, husband Eli, of Hartford, and their daughter Megan, of Hudson Falls; son, John Liberty Jr., wife, Liza, and their son, Denver, all of South Glens Falls; a brother, Thomas Corlew, wife Sue, of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; sister-in-law, Lettie Liberty of Plattsburgh; brother-in-law, Carlton Bradley of Morrisonville; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will take place Sunday, September 20th from noon to 2 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY.
A funeral service will immediately follow, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph Busch, pastor of Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, officiating.
Burial will be private to the family at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
