QUEENSBURY - Joan Cordelia Richardson Combs Murray, 78, of Warren Lane, Queensbury, passed away Friday July 4, 2014 surrounded by her loving husband and children.

She was a loving wife, the best momma, and a true friend.

She was born on January 22, 1936 in Putnam, NY, the daughter of Frederick J. and Catherine M. (Lansing) Richardson, and the sister of John and Bradford Richardson, and Alice Castro.

Survivors are her husband of 32 years, Harold B. Murray, of Queensbury; her children, Maurice "Charlie" Combs of Wilton, Fred Combs (Cindy) of Holiday, Florida, Karen LeBlanc (Mike) of Queensbury, and Darlene Morgan (Allen) of Clermont, Florida; four step-children, Earl Murray, Rhonda Murray, Edward Murray, and William Murray; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Connell.

She was a homemaker for many years. She also was an avid Yankees fan. Joan has made many friends over the years. She was one of the founders of the women's pool league, over forty years ago, winning many awards during her years of playing pool, as well as serving as president and treasurer of the leagues. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post No. 2475, Cooper Street in Glens Falls.

Since her retirement from tending bar at many local establishments over the years, Joan has spent time enjoying the company of her family and lying by her pool.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in loving memory of our momma, to the West Glens Falls Emergency Squad, 86 Luzerne Road, Queeensbury, NY 12804.

Joan's family would like to express a special thanks for all the support and care received by the doctors and nurses in ICU and 3 west at Glens Falls Hospital, and to West Glens Falls Rescue Squad.

Friends may call upon her family on Tuesday, July 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury. The Ladies Auxiliary of Post No. 2475 will perform at brief ceremony at 6:30 p.m. during the calling hours.

Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Smith, High Peaks Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
