UPDATED GRAVESIDE NOTICE: A graveside ceremony, will take place Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Warrensburg Cemetery with the Rev. Patti Girard officiating.
SARATOGA SPRINGS --- Joan E. Wescott, 93, passed away at Saratoga Hospital on Sunday, August 4, 2024 with loved ones by her side.
Born October 12, 1930 in Wevertown, N.Y. she was the daughter of William and Gladys (Beach) Maloney.
In 1949, Joan graduated from Johnsburg Central School.
After graduation, she went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Joan would go around the area to various nursing homes to help.
During Joan's free time, she would sew and work on puzzles. Joan also enjoyed making goodies, she would make homemade candy and holiday cookies.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her spouse, Franklin "Lee" Wescott; sister, Jane E. (Maloney) Stark; nephews, Carl "Luke" McCane and Timothy McCane; her niece, Joellen Thompson; and her special niece, Carol Billington.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son who she recently reunited with, Jeff (Cheri) Blinn; grandchildren, Angela, Christopher, and Jamie, as well as many great grandchildren of Texas; brother, James (Garnet) Maloney of South Glens Falls; nieces, Linda Salerno of Queensbury, Marion Monroe of North Creek, Jacquelyn (Don) Beaty of South Glens Falls, and Jessica (Brian) Odonnell of South Glens Falls; her special great niece, CarolAnn (Ray) Rapp and their children, Christopher and Kara (Dalton Jones) and great-great-great nephew, Kameron Rapp of Gansevoort; as well as many other great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
A graveside ceremony will take place at a later date.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Saratoga Hospital for the great care they provided to Aunt Joan in her final days. They would also like to thank Donna Franchini and the staff at Embury Apartments for the care and help they provided while she lived there.
