Glens Falls --- JoEllen Fernbach, 75, passed away peacefully Friday, October 13, 2023, in her home.

Daughter of Joseph M. Christy and Mildred L. Christy (nee Trablik), JoEllen was born in Nutley, New Jersey September 18, 1948.

In addition to her parents, JoEllen was predeceased by her loving husband Dennis Fernbach to whom she was married for over fifty years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Peter, and grand-daughter Iris: cousins Richard and Michael Nosach; sisters-in-law Mary Jo Veling and Catherine Fernbach; nieces Johanna Kingson and Jenna Nosach; nephews Aaron Kingson and Geoffrey Nosach; and her beloved cats Patience, Peanuts, Gracie, and Oprah.

JoEllen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during holiday parties that she catered in Buffalo, N.Y. and at her retirement home in Bethel, N.Y., affectionately referred to as "the farm." She graduated from Nutley High School in 1966 and Alfred University in 1970. She accompanied Dennis during his military service in Germany, and for his further education at the University of Toledo, finally settling in Buffalo, N.Y., where she cared for her family, went on to earn a Master's in Education, and taught Special Education for Erie 1 BOCES. She will be remembered as a gentle and caring woman who loved and was loved by her family.

Services will be held privately by the family on or around the summer solstice, which would mark the 54th anniversary of her marriage.
