Obituary

HUDSON FALLS --- John F. Ballard Jr., 37, of Willow St., passed away unexpectedly due to health complications on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Glens Falls Hospital with family by his side.

Born June 8, 1986, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Darlyn (Dingman) and John F. Ballard Sr.

John attended Fort Edward High School, and most recently worked at Buy Low Carpet as a retail floor specialist.

Some of his enjoyments included golfing, fishing, hiking, gardening, and snowmobiling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughters and was proud to help coach their softball teams. He also loved routing for the N.Y. Giants, N.Y. Yankees, and Florida Gators.

John was predeceased by his grandparents, Lloyd Dingman Jr., and Florence Dingman and Truman and Ann Ballard; aunts, Joan Rockwell, Joyce Beebe, Judy Panoushek and Ernestine Ballard; and uncles, Truman Ballard Jr., James Ballard and Walter Ballard Sr.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters, Annaliese and Penelope Ballard; his sisters, Niki (Ray) Hoag, Angie (Gary) Proper, and Samantha (William) Fitzpatrick; several aunts and uncles including, Sherri (James) Davis, Marilyn (Bruce) Terrell, Ed (Joan) Ballard, and Frances Campney; also, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his cat, Izzy.

Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside ceremony on Friday, September 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Warrensburg Cemetery on Hudson St. with Rev. Matt Jones, officiating.

A celebration of life will take place at the Legion Hall in Granville immediately following the burial.

Special thank you to the EMT's at the Fort Edward Emergency Squad, the doctors, nurses and staff at the Glens Falls Hospital Emergency Room and the Glens Falls Hospital Intensive Care Unit.  The family is very appreciative of all the dedicated professional care that was diligently administered in every effort to try to save John's life. The family would also like to thank Baker Funeral Home for all of their help during this most difficult time.
