MOREAU - On November 25, 2014 John E. Blanchard Sr., 64, passed away with his family by his side at Glens Falls Hospital following a battle with recurrent aggressive infections.
John was born March 19, 1950 to Vernon (Slim) and Francis Jean Blanchard Ormsby.
He graduated from Queensbury High School where he met his lifelong love, Donna M. Troumbley, and married her on August 12, 1972. Together they had three children John Jr., Edward and Jeanne.
John worked at NIBCO from March 1978, nearly 20 years most of the time as a Supervisor, until he was retired.
Besides his family he loved to fish and hunt, work with his hands on various projects as he was a jack of all trades.
John was predeceased by his parents, mother and father -in-law Theora (Tedie) And George Troumbley Sr., and brother-in-law Raymond (Butch) Troumbley.
Survivors include his wife Donna; two sons John Blanchard Jr.( wife Amy), Edward Blanchard (fiancé Courtney), daughter Jeannie Thomas (husband Mike and family); grandchildren Tina, Courtney, Justin, Brianna, Diondré and Aja; his step-mother Walda Blanchard; two brothers Bill (wife Gul) and Dan Blanchard (wife Melissa), sisters Julie Brasch (husband Lance) and Valerie Blanchard, brother-in-law George Troumbley Jr. (wife Shirley), sister-in-law Barbara Troumbley; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will take place at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St. Queensbury from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29.
A memorial service will immediately follow at 4p.m. with the Pastor Robert Wendell officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be announced after the memorial service.
