Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- John P. Bruhns, 84, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Sunday, February 2, 2025 after battling a long illness. Born in Manhattan on December 8, 1940 to John and Helen Roebling Bruhns. He moved up to Glens Falls in 1952 and graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1960. John was a self-employed contractor DBA Tyson Trucking in Queensbury for over 30 years. As an avid horticulturist, John operated My Backyard Nursery for many years. Friends and family benefitted from his love of gardening. John enjoyed photography and loved using photo-shop to "make fools of us all!"

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Alice Vinicor Bruhns and their sons; Tyson, Alex, Dustin, and Dustin's wife Shannon. Two shining lights in his life were his granddaughters; Jade and Jocelyn. Watching them grow gave him many happy memories. He leaves behind his best "four-legged" friends Maggie & Buddy.

Visitation will take place Saturday, February 8, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Bailey, officiating.

The family would love you to join them after the services at the Bullpen Tavern, 216 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY.

At the family's convenience, the burial ceremony will take place at a later date.
