FORT EDWARD --- John "Jack" Erwin Robbins, 81, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, following a long illness.
Born September 18, 1940, in Glens Falls he was the son of Erwin and Florence (Cahill) Robbins.
Jack served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge.
He married Jeanne (Viger) with whom he shared six children; Lucky, Tammy, Stacey, Edgar, Jody, and John II.
Jack was well known in the community and liked by all who met him. To many, he was known as the "Silver Fox."
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and singing the "oldies" while strumming on his guitar.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his number one son, Lucky "Johnny" Robbins; daughter-in-law, Debbie (Carpenter) Robbins; and son-in-law, Curt Putney.
Survivors include his children, Tammy (Lou) Gray, Stacey Harrington, Edgar "Eddie" (Debbie) Robbins, Jody Putney, and John "JayJay" (Judy) Robbins; sister, Marlene (Butch) Merritt; long-time companion, Mary Ann Mendel; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
At Jack's request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fort Hudson and Hospice for their time and care with their loved one, Dad, Papa Jack Robbins.
