"Jack" Bellow

QUEENSBURY - John T. "Jack" Bellow, 80, of Maplewood Dr. passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born April 2, 1936, in Lyndhurst, N.J., he was the son of Victor and Evelyn (Hougland) Bellow.
Jack grew up in New Milford, N.J. and graduated from Dumont High School in 1954.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1954 and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany where his first daughter was born. Jack was honorably discharged in 1957.
For 25 years Jack worked at Eastman Kodak. He also served as Deacon at Second Reformed Church in Little Falls, N.J.
In Fort Myers, Fla. Jack married Sherry Bellow. Together they spent a wonderful 18 years.
Jack loved boating on Lake George where he had a summer place for 30 years. He rode motorcycles from the age of 17 and loved his Harley. Slalom waterskiing was a passion of Jacks and he taught his grandchildren as well as many others while on Lake George.
He belonged to the Adirondack Harley Group, sponsored by McDermott's in Ft. Ann, for many years.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by three sisters, Bernice Horner, Sylvia Morningstar (Ted), and Evelyn Karmen (Johnny); and his dedicated dog, Scrapper.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Sherry Bellow; his three children, Ruth Kelly (George), Debbie Cordts (David), and Brad Bellow (Karen) and their mother, Geraldine (nee Salvador) Bellow; four stepchildren, Ken Hayward (Kathy), John Hayward (Cindy), Bill Hayward (Debbie), and Clinton Hayward and special friend, Jessica; his five grandchildren, George Kelly IV, Amy Kelly, Sarah Cordts, Danielle Cleveland (Tom), and Rachel Bellow daughter of Brad Bellow and Cheryl Trenary; his only great grandchild, Savanna Rayne Cleveland; a brother, Victor Bellow (Mardee); and his devoted dog, Mac.
Calling hours will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 6 at the Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Barclay, of First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, officiating. Bagpipes performed by Jerry Cashion.
Burial with military honors will take place following the service at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Glens Falls Hospital nursing staff along with Dr. Chaudry and Dr. Ares for their kindness, understanding and care. Much gratitude and thanks to Myra Morgan, Jacks caregiver. Also thanks to Kathy Hayward for all her help.
