HUDSON FALLS --- John H. Sefren, 68, of Deer Run Dr., passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 at his home.
Born Dec. 5, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of John and Evelyn (McClellan) Sefren.
In June, 1965, John enlisted in the United States Air Force, served in the Vietnam War in Cam Rahn Bay as a Weapons Mechanic and was honorably discharged in Dec. 1968. John and his brother, Jim, served in Vietnam together for a short while.
Following his military service, John continued serving his country as a Washington D.C. Police Sergeant for several years, while he also earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
John used his knowledge of accounting and his degree as an employee at YMCA in Waukegan, IL and Abbott Laboratories, among other companies.
Some of John's enjoyments included bowling and volunteering as a docent at the NYS Military Museum in Saratoga.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 sisters, Barbara Politowitz Badner and Patricia Kolak.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Huckemeyer and her partner, Kay Mackey, of New York City; his brothers, Jim Sefren and his wife, Lynn, and Larry Sefren and his wife, Norma; a sister, Judy Sefren; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no calling hours or funeral.
Interment, with military honors, will be private and at the convenience of the family at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
