QUEENSBURY --- John M. Skellie, 62, of Queensbury, passed away suddenly of natural causes, Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.
Born July 19, 1951 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late William and Olive Mae (Hermance) Skellie.
In addition to his parents John was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Mosher; three brothers, Ernest Skellie, James Skellie, and Darwin "Toby" Skellie.
John is survived by three sisters, Regina Kill of Hudson Falls, Christine Murray also of Hudson Falls, and Diane Skellie and her partner, Tony Mietus, of Union, WV; four brothers, William Skellie and his partner, Linda Potter, of Queensbury, Stephen (Joan) Skellie of Orlando, Fla., Joseph (Lynne) Skellie of Cornelia, Ga, and R. Michael (Margaret) Skellie of Raleigh, NC; one sister-in-law, Joanne Skellie of Manchester, NH; brother-in-law, Howard Mosher of Corinth; also many nieces, nephews, friends and special mention of devoted niece Cyndy Warner and her husband John.
At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of John's life Sunday, December 8, at 1 p.m. at West Glens Falls Fire Department, 33 Luzerne Rd., Queensbury, NY 12804.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to West Glens Falls Emergency Squad, 86 Luzerne Rd., Queensbury, NY 12804, or to West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, 33 Luzerne Rd., Queensbury, NY 12804 for John's many years of faithful service.
