Obituary

GLENS FALLS --- Joseph E. Leroux, 72, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.

Born on October 19, 1946 in Oswego, NY, he was the son of Alcide J. Leroux and Dorothy R. (Dunn) Leroux.

Joe graduated from Glens Falls High School, class of 1964. Following his graduation, Joe joined the United States Army in 1965, serving in Vietnam during his enlistment. For his honorable service, Joseph received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Marksman.

Throughout his younger years, he was a member of the Professional Bowling Association and also enjoyed fishing, horse racing, sports, and eating good food with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Leroux; brother, Raymond Leroux; and his special dog, Bob.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Chris Leroux; his grandchildren, Cassidy and Maraena Leroux; his great-grandson, Carter; brothers, Tom Leroux and his wife, Pat, and Bill Leroux and his wife, Mary; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Deacon Bill Bazinet officiating. The Patriot Guard Riders will stand guard during the service and bagpipes will be played.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held in the spring at St. Paul's Cemetery in Hudson Falls.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center Albany, 9B Heroes Way, where he spent the last couple of years.
