QUEENSBURY --- Jowina Argila, 86, of Queensbury, died peacefully Tuesday evening, August 5, 2014 after a long life.
Born December 13, 1927, in Richmond, City of New York she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Grillo) Argila.
Jowina graduated from High School before working at Meldisco, in Mahwah, N.J.
She was an avid scrabble player, and enjoyed drawing and oil painting, but above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Northway Christian Family Church in Queensbury, N.Y.
In addition to her parents, Jowina was predeceased by brothers, Salvatore and Joseph Argila.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lillian Urband and Suzanne Lacatena and two sons, Curtis Prescott and Paul Gay; seven grandchildren, Jared Gould, Jennifer Tether, Jessica Szeli, Suzanne Hurtado, Paulie Gay, David Gay, and Ashley Prescott; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Gould, Jonathan Gould, Sarah Tether, Lilliana Hurtado, Justice Hurtado, Caleb Hurtado; and a brother, George Argila.
A memorial service will take place Tuesday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Northway Christian Family Church, Queensbury, N.Y.
