Queensbury --- Joyce Beswick Duffy, 97, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025.

Born August 16, 1927 in Witherbee, NY she was the daughter of the late Eugene R. and Mabel H. (Hinds) Bouchard.

On May 10, 1946, Joyce married George E. Beswick with whom she shared two children. After his passing on January 25, 1973, she later married James T. Duffy on June 17, 1981 who passed away December 23, 1996. Other loved ones who predeceased Joyce besides her two husbands and parents, were one brother, John Bouchard; and one sister, Jane Metzler.

For many years starting in 1959, Joyce was employed as the Lake George High School principal secretary and retiring July of 1982. Joyce also volunteered at the American Red Cross and Open-Door Soup Kitchen.

Survivors include her two children, Gregory Beswick Sr. and his wife Candice of Queensbury, Gail Murphy and her husband Kevin of South Glens Falls; five grandchildren, Jennifer Doherty and her husband Kevin of Delmar, Gregory Beswick Jr. of Hampden, Maine, Jeff Beswick and his wife Dawn of Hampden, Maine, Karin Koukoulis and her husband Nick of College Park, Maryland, and Katie Beswick of Charolette, North Carolina; three step-children, Kathleen Bosy and her husband Bill, Michael Duffy, and Kevin Duffy; one step-grandchild, Hunter Bosy; three great-grandchildren, Cameron and Gabriel Beswick, and Sierra Doherty; two step-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Ally Doherty; one niece; and two great-great grandchildren, Juno and Dorian.

At Joyce's request there will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Lake George Caldwell Presbyterian Church, 71 Montcalm Street, Lake George, New York 12845.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Birch Ave., Lake George, New York 12845.
