QUEENSBURY --- Joyce Marie (Smith) Johnson, 81, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, after an extended illness.

Born on December 26, 1937 in Chester, NY, she was the daughter of Dennis Smith and Agnes F. Potter.

She was happily married to Lewis B. Johnson for nearly 60 years.

She loved her dog, Duddy, and she loved her family. She was a stay-at-home mom for her son, David.

Joyce also found joy shopping at Walmart or eating her favorite New Way hot dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lewis, and her son, David Johnson; her sisters, Jeanette Centerbar and her husband, Richard, and Genevia Shippee; her brothers, Dennis Smith and Richard Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Susie Wood and her daughter, Brittany, who helped her after her husband passed away in 2013; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Smith and Gert Smith; her brother-in-law, Eugene Shippee; many nieces, nephews and cousins; also her beloved pet dog of many years, Duddy.

A graveside ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.

Susie wishes to send a sincere thank you to the people who helped her aunt through cancer and her long battle with COPD. She also thanks everyone who helped her through her short stay at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.
