GLENS FALLS --- Julie M. Bowe, 66, passed away at Glens Falls Hospital Nov. 9, 2017 with her family by her side.

Born March 30, 1951 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Dennis B. and Marjorie (Green) Sullivan.

Julie graduated from Glens Falls High School Class of 1969. She earned her B.S. in Physical Education from Skidmore College in 1973, and her M.S. in Health Education from Russell Sage College in 1977.

She taught physical education at Glens Falls High School from 1973 to 1981, and then at Sanford St. School from 1982 to 2005.

On May 11, 1985, Julie married Joseph E. Bowe III in Glens Falls.

She was a member of Hiland Golf Club, AYHA Board of Directors, and Queensbury Senior Citizens.

In addition to her parents, Dennis "Barney" and Marjorie "Marge", Julie was predeceased by "Putt" and Anne LaMay, who were like a second set of parents to Julie. Her loving dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge were Chichi, Zipper, Princess, Roobie, Haze, and Bob.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joe Bowe; five children, Ryan Marcantonio (fiancé Elizabeth Wescott), Matthew Marcantonio (fiancé Ashley Wilson), Scott Bowe (Shawn), Chris Bowe (Kristy), and Julie Humphries (Bob); ten grandchildren, Adelyn Marcantonio, Vinny and Ava Marcantonio, Aubrey Spory, Alysha Hutchins and Brett Bowe, Braiden and Averi Bowe, and Peyton and Ashton Humphries; her "sister" and best friend in the whole world, Patricia "Patty" LaMay; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins, with special mention of Phil and Ann Sullivan, Mike and Robert O'Leary, and Dennis and Kathy Sullivan (Suprenaut); Bonnie, her dog, who she rescued.

Julie's wish was to enroll in the anatomical donation program through Albany Medical College.

Calling hours will take place Friday, Nov. 17, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church on Warren St. in Glens Falls.

A graveside service will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Glens Falls.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the Glens Falls Hospital Emergency Room doctors and staff for their exceptional care.
