Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- June Ellen Barnes Walsh, 79, passed away following a long illness on Thursday, January 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born January 10, 1946, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Varney) Barnes.

June was a graduate of Glens Falls High School. She was very active in the community, especially the Moreau Community Center, where she made thousands of May baskets. She also participated in the restorations of the Clayton Avenue annual Christmas display created by Paul Smith.

June was a talented seamstress and did the sewing of patches to sports jackets for local schools for many years. She created amazing holiday Christmas ornaments, as well as miniatures, dollhouses and shadowboxes with amazing detail. She loved camping for many years.

In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her significant other, Ralph Tarin III.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott Walsh (Virginia) and Sheri Walsh; grandchildren, Lexi Bohlman and Victoria Walsh; siblings, Dr. John Barnes (Susan), Carol Lauer (Michael), Susan Stepp (John), and Penny Sandora (Richard); also, several nieces and nephews.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses at High Peaks Hospice.
