Karen C. Araujo, 64, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, New York.

Born April 27, 1961, in Porto Alegre, Brazil she was the daughter of Schneider C. De Araujo and Nancy L. (Johns) Hinz.

Karen graduated from high school in California.

Karen worked at restaurants such as the Sagamore in Bolton Landing, New York, Las Vegas Nevada, and in California, as a waitress.

There were many things that Karen loved including butterflies, eating out, and Halloween. She also had many hobbies such as traveling, shopping, and cooking. Karen was very friendly and always helpful.

Karen is predeceased by her father, Schneider C. De Araujo.

Those left to cherish her memory are her companion, Babycakes, Everett Nix; children, Kassandra De Silva, and Kristian De Silva; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Nancy L. Hinz; sister, Christy; brothers, Ned, and Dieter; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
