Obituary

QUEENSBURY - Karen Mousseau passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, after a long courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Born in Glens Falls to Joseph and Elsie Brennan. She attended St Mary’s Academy through grade eight graduating from Queensbury high school in 1966. She was a communicant of St Mary’s Church and drew much strength from her faith.

On February 24, 1968, Karen married the love of her life, Tim Mousseau. They were best friends and each other’s biggest supporters through 58 years of marriage.

Karen was employed at the Glens Falls Middle School for 25 years, retiring in 2012. She had an impact on many students over the years and was loved by students and staff alike.

Hobbies such as gardening, antiques, interior decorating, cooking, and painting brought her much enjoyment. Her gardens were featured on the Chapman Museum’s Secret Garden Tour. In later years watercolor painting had become a source of inspiration, creating many beautiful paintings for family and grandchildren that will be cherished forever.

Karen was a strong influence on her granddaughters; she leaves a big empty spot in this family unit. Family was very important to Karen; she was a strong woman that did not hold back on her opinions and always there to give a helping hand. Her biggest joy and accomplishment in life are her children and grandchildren. Each held a special bond and place in her heart.

Karen leaves behind her husband, Tim Mousseau; son, Brian (Christine) Mousseau; daughter, Heather (Eric) LaCoppola; five granddaughters, Kaiti Faour, Sarah (Allison) Abrams-Mousseau, Olivia (Patrick Munley) LaCoppola, Elizabeth Mousseau, and Catherine LaCoppola; and nieces, Kerrie Breen, and Haley Gilligan.

Visitation will take place Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
