Obituary

FORT EDWARD --- Kathleen C. Schwab, 78, a longtime resident of New Jersey, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital with loved ones by her side.

Born October 13, 1945 in Teaneck, N.J., she was the daughter of Carlo and Alice (Keating) Raimondo.

Kathleen graduated from Cliffside Park High School and earned her Associate's Degree in Medical Coding.

She married George Schwab on October 24, 1964 at St. Michael's Church in Palisades Park, N.J.

For many years, she worked for Porzio, Bromberg, & Newman, P.C. law firm in N.J.

Some of her enjoyments included crocheting, listening to Elvis, and spending time at the beach. Kathleen was a member of several Fire Departments Ladie's Auxiliaries, including Lake Hiawatha F.D., Ridgeway F.D., and Manitou Park F.D., as well as serving as Past President of the Ladie's Auxiliary of the Firemen of the State of New Jersey.

In addition to her parents, and grandparents, Carmelo (Carmela) Raimondo and Joseph (Jane) Keating, Kathleen was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Mayer, a sister, Elaine "Cookie" Romando, her favorite son-in-law, Mark Goble, sister-in-law, Beverly Schwab, a brother-in-law, John Schwab, and her loving dog, Coco.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 59 years, George Schwab; two daughters, JoAnne Mayer and Lynda Goble, both of Fort Edward; grandchildren, Timothy Schwab of Fort Edward and Sierra and Mark Mayer, both of Brick, N.J.; two brothers, Carmelo "William" (Karen) Raimondo of Hackensack, N.J. and Carl (Sharon) Raimondo of Tom's River, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Patricia Schwab and a brother-in-law, Joseph Schwab, both of N.J.; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and her loving fur grandchild, Buster.

A celebration of her life and graveside ceremony will be announced at a later date.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and doctors on Tower 2 at Glens Falls Hospital.
