HUDSON FALLS --- Kathleen H. Stay, 78, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Born on August 19, 1946, in Plattsburgh, New York, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace Wheeler Stay. Kathleen attended Plattsburgh High School and graduated in 1964.

Kathleen was briefly employed in the 1970s by GE where she met her former husband of many years, Glenn, (and father to their daughter Nicolle.)

Kathleen also was employed by TV Data for 20 years where she met many lifelong friends along the way.

Kathleen was an incredible decorator. She had such an eye for collecting the perfect vintage treasures for her beautiful craftsman home. Her passion for gardening, cooking, decorating, and antiquing are just a few of her favorite hobbies. She also was a crafter who enjoyed hand painting on unique finds, and having booths at craft fairs.

Kathleen always cherished spending time with her family, and many get-togethers on Lake Champlain.  She also loved her time with her close, lifelong friends, taking family trips to Maine, and taking part in many local traditions such as; The Adirondack Balloon Festival, The World's Largest Garage Sale in Warrensburg, the antique fairs, apple picking, and many other community events. She very much loved being part of all that our beautiful community has to offer. Most of all, Kathleen and Nicolle loved spending time together, decorating and treasure hunting to all of their favorite spots.

Those left to cherish and carry on her memory are her children, Nicolle (Dan) Burton, Julie (Alec) Underwood; grandchildren, Abigayle, Austin and Alexandria; great-granddaughter, Peyson; siblings, Kenneth (Deborah) Stay, Theodore (Sandra) Stay, Steven (Caren) Stay, Grace (Bonnie) Stay, Ellen (Michael) Gelen; sister in-law,Sally Stay; cousins, nephews , nieces and many friends, including her beloved dog, Romeo.

Kathleen had the biggest heart of all. She was so easy going and not only funny but she had the best sense of humor too. She was the most caring, loving, and nurturing person who always put others needs and feelings first. She was a soft place to land for many as she has healed many broken wings over the years. And now it's time for her to finally heal her own.

Heaven has gained one incredible angel.  Our souls are forever bound, my beautiful mother, and my best friend.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at 3:30 pm with the Rev. Flossie Bates officiating.
