Obituary

GLENS FALLS --- Kathryn (Kay) Williams Hubert, 77 of Glens Falls, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday January 28, 2026, after a long battle from chronic illnesses.

Born June 27, 1948, in Albany, NY, she was the only child of Robert J. Williams and Opal Ruth Williams.

Kay's life was defined by care—for her family, her patients, her community, and those lucky enough to be part of her inner circle. She attended Shaker High School, graduated from Cushing Academy, and continued her education at Cazenovia College before earning her bachelor's degree from Syracuse University's School of Nursing. Nursing was more than a career for Kay; it was a calling. She served as a Registered Nurse at Albany Medical Center in Oncology and later as an operating room scrub nurse, bringing compassion, steadiness, and strength to every role she held. Alongside her husband, she also helped build and run three family businesses, always offering her support behind the scenes.

Nothing brought Kay greater joy than her family, especially her five grandchildren, whom she adored. She was deeply loving, fiercely protective, and endlessly devoted to those she loved. Her care extended beyond family to friends and anyone she welcomed into her world.

Kay was a passionate Syracuse University basketball fan and followed every game closely—though she famously avoided watching the entire game so she wouldn't jinx the team. She also proudly supported Glens Falls School District sports and never missed following their successes. A longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Kay sang in the church choir for many years. Music was one of her great loves, and she shared that love generously with her children, creating lasting memories through song.

Kay's kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength will be remembered always. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and compassion that will continue to live on through her family and all who were touched by her life.

Those left to cherish Kay's memory are her two daughters, Devon L. Hubert (Jason Brown) of Bennington, NH and Blythe P. (Harvey) Hveem of Glens Falls; her grandchildren, Cody and Lyla Brown of Bennington, NH and Roscoe, Conrad, and Brecken Hveem of Glens Falls; her cousin, Dianne Wilson; her sister-in-law, Priscillia Grover (Philip) of Fairlee, VT;  and brothers-in-law, Richard Hubert (Barbara) of California and James Hubert, Jr. (Ruth) of Gilford, NH; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place Friday, February 6th at 2:00 PM at Baker Funeral Home. A Celebration of Kay's Life will be held following the service.

Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Fair Haven, VT at the convenience of the family in the spring.

Condolences and flowers may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
