JOHNSBURG --- Kelly E. Richards, 61, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at her home with her family by her side after many years battling cancer.

Born March 3, 1962 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Brian Sullivan and Joan McCarthy.

Kelly graduated from Johnsburg School and proudly earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from SUNY Adirondack. She worked as an RN at Glens Falls and Saratoga Hospital, as well as Adirondack Tri County Nursing Home.

High school sweethearts, Kelly married Curtis Richards in 1982. They had four sons and happily spent their time in the outdoors, enjoying camping and hiking. They also loved taking vacations and spending time on the beach with family. More recently, Kelly loved the company of her grandchildren when they came to visit her.

She was predeceased by her grandparents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Curtis Richards, of Johnsburg; their four sons: Jason (Katie) Richards of Newcomb, Adam (Barbi) Richards of Cobleskill, Lucas (Tara) Richards of Queensbury, and Evan Richards of Johnsburg; grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, Sullivan, Aubree, Aurora, Adylynn, Carson, Ariyanna, and Axyl; a great-granddaughter, Renleigh; Kelly's father, Brian Sullivan of Olmstedville, and mother, Joan McCarthy of Saratoga; Kelly's sisters and their families: Jacki, Bridget, and Billy Sullivan, and Jessica Connelly; her in-laws, with special mention of her mother-in-law, Barbara Hopkins; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved pets, Sadie and Dunn.

Visitation will take place Friday, July 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. John Tether, pastor of Northway Community Church, officiating.

A graveside ceremony will be held Saturday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at Bates Cemetery in Johnsburg.

Friends are invited to join the family at Curtis and Kelly's home following the graveside. Feel free to bring a dish to share, along with any special memories.
