Whitehall, NY --- Kenneth W. Petersen, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Born January 24, 1947 and raised in Hicksville, NY he was the son of Harry and Audrey (Joan) (Pittman) Petersen.

Ken graduated from Hicksville High School. He then went onto attend Hofstra University. He spent most of his life on Long Island, N.Y. while vacationing in Whitehall in the summers. He became a permanent resident of Whitehall shortly after retirement in 2016. 

Ken enjoyed music, fishing, boating/kayaking, and watching western movies and his favorite sports teams- the Mets and the Jets. 

Ken was predeceased by his mother and father.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Amanda (Jesse) of Largo, FL, Ken (John) of Miller Place, NY, Melanie, and Laura of Whitehall, NY and his loyal dog, Cody.
