Obituary

Kenneth E. Raynor, 92, passed away Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward.
Born July 27, 1920 in Bay Shore, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Clifford and Lillian (Townsend) Raynor.
Ken enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps Dec. 8, 1942 and was honorably discharged Nov. 20, 1945. He was proud of his service as a tail gunner in the Boeing B-17 aircraft during World War II.
He was a former business owner, retiring as a salesman from Sears Roebuck.
Some of his enjoyments included snowmobiling, restoring old lawnmowers, and taking trips to Maine and Las Vegas.
In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Groves, a sister, Bernice Osterhout, and his brother, Douglas Raynor.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Elsie Raynor; daughter, Barbara (John) Granniss; five grandchildren, Trudy (Moe) Ewiss, Denice Green, Robert (Laura) Collum, Christine Spurgin, and Samantha Groves; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jason Groves, Amanda and Nora Ewiss, Eric Kolakowski, Sara Green, and Sara Burns; a sister, Darcy Overton; his niece, Karen (Dan) Burns; and three nephews, Eric Raynor, Keith Osterhout, and Raymond (Donna) Overton.
Friends may call upon the family Wednesday, March 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
There will be no funeral service.
Interment will follow the calling hour at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
Donations may be made, in loving memory of Ken, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to SPCA of Upstate NY, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
