Obituary

Glens Falls - Larry J Fournier, 70, passed away on Feb 21, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital after courageously battling several ongoing health challenges with quiet strength.

Larry lived a simple life rooted in hard work and the outdoors. A dedicated Local 773 pipefitter for many years, he took great pride in his trade. Larry was known for his steady hand and willingness to help those in need.

When he wasn't working, his favorite place to be was at his family hunting camp at 13th Lake, Buck Mountain Hunting Club. He loved to share his lifelong memories of spending time with his grandfather, brothers, uncles and cousins at the camp, which wasn't just a pastime, it was a tradition.

At home, he enjoyed the simple pleasure of sitting on his porch, watching the world go by, people watching. Time spent with his friends, sometimes sharing laughs and stories over a drink or two…or three…was time well spent in his book.  Larry was affectionately known to many as "Lala."

He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and never missed a chance to watch a game and cheer them on. Larry also enjoyed trying his luck betting on the horses at OTB. He didn't need much to be happy, just good company, a ballgame or a day in the woods.

Larry also treasured time spent with his son Larry, who was by his side until the end.

Survivors include his son, Larry (Shellie) Fournier, and his brother, David (Lisa) Fournier who will carry forward his memory, as well as the lessons he taught by the way he lived…work hard, enjoy the simple things in life, and make time for the people who matter most.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold "Larry" Fournier and Carolyn Mattison; brother, Terry Fournier, and sister, Faith Morency.

Relatives and friends may call from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Baker Funeral Home, 11 LaFayette St. Queensbury, NY 12804. A funeral home service will be held at 5:00pm with Reverend Flossy Bates officiating.

In his honor, watch a ballgame, spend time outdoors, sit on the porch, or place a small bet on a horse you have a good feeling about and raise a glass with friends.

He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.

Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
