Laura L'Eplattenier, 79, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 22, 2025.

Born June 1, 1946 in the mountains of Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Dionisio and Angelica (Lopez) Irizarry.

Laura graduated from St. Joseph's University and earned her bachelor's degree. Following her graduation she worked as a registered nurse until retiring from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, New York.

Laura enjoyed boasting about her grandsons to anyone that would listen, traveling, trying to perfect her sister's Spanish rice (she was never able to), many hours at the local library picking out books for her whole family, as well as going to the local senior center for some exercise.

In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her son, Adam L'Eplattenier; and sister, Miriam Bayron.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 52 years, Neil L'Eplattenier of Fort Ann; son, Emile L'Eplattenier of Brooklyn; daughter, Nicole (Thomas) Palmer of Queensbury; grandchildren, Benjamin and Anthony; as well as countless nieces and nephews across the globe.

A celebration of life will be held by the family on Long Island in August.
