Obituary

Laurel Juckett passed away on August 28, 2025, at the Washington Center in Argyle after a long illness.

Born on January 2, 1947, in Glens Falls she was the daughter of the late Albert and Edna Brannon Kenyon. She graduated as salutatorian of her 1965 class of the Warrensburg Central School. While in school she was active in many clubs and played the oboe in the high school band. Her first employment was with the John S. Hall law office. She worked for a short while with the county Soil and Water Conservation Department. Laurel then started working at the Niagara Mohawk office in Warrensburg. After many years and moving up through several departments she retired from National Grid. She was active in the community working with the school PTSA and the American Legion Auxiliary. She served the local unit Post #446 and county unit serving in different capacities including president.

Laurel's enjoyments included music, watching TV and movies, shopping, and doing sudoku puzzles. On November 22, 1969 she married Reuben E. Juckett in Indian Lake. He predeceased her in November 2001. Years later she was predeceased by her companion Stewart Allen.

Her survivors include her daughter, Lauralee Allen (Douglas); five grandchildren, Will, Marilyn, Cotye, Lindsay, and Michael; brother, Roderic K. Kenyon and his wife, Mary; nephew, Roderic J. Kenyon (Katie) and their family; nieces and nephew, Kaleigh, Kambri, and Khylion; aunt, Mary, and Monica; dear friend and classmate, Marie Pifer, and several other relatives, cousins, friends, and acquaintances.

Calling hours will take place Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joseph Busch officiating.

A graveside ceremony will follow at Warrensburg Cemetery.
