QUEENSBURY -- Lawrence G. McCasland, 74, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born March 10, 1941 in Plattsburg, NY he was the son of the late Leonard and Emily (Gonyea) McCasland.

After graduating from Lyon Mountain High School in 1959, Lawrence served in the U.S Navy until 1965.

November 30, 1985 he married his love, Bonnie Kanaly in Middlebury, Vt.

Lawrence retired from Clinton Correctional Facility and enjoyed spending his time fishing and woodworking. Most of all he loved his time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

In addition to his parents Lawrence was predeceased by his brother, Jack McCasland; sister, Bette O'Connor; and brother-in-law, John O'Connor.

Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Bonnie McCasland; his children, Jeff (Becky) McCasland, Scott (Mary Beth) McCasland, Todd (Lori) McCasland, and Craig McCasland; his grandchildren, Amy (Andrew) Williams, Katie McCasland, Matt McCasland, Brittany McCasland, Hannah McCasland, Jakob McCasland, Benjamin McCasland, Emma McCasland and Grace McCasland; his twin great-granddaughters, Anna and Ellie Williams; a sister, Phyllis McCasland and significant other, Bruce Englund; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At the family's request there will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21 at St. Mary's Church on Warren St., Glens Falls.

A burial, with military honors, will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY.
