Glen Lake, NY --- Lawrence B. Potter, 66, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, after a brief illness of cardiac complications.

Larry was born September 9, 1959, in Westwood, NJ. He was the son of Robert and Jane (Zimmerman) Potter.

Lawrence moved to Glen Lake with his family in 1976 and finished high school in Lake George, graduating in 1977.

He married Gail Hawley in Lake George on August 27, 1983. They moved to Avon, NY. He worked at Rochester Freight Company for most of his life. He moved back to Glen Lake to assist in the caregiving of his mother, before her passing.

Lawrence was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants and loved animals, especially cats.

Lawrence was predeceased by his father, Robert Potter; mother, Jane Potter; brother, Glenn D. Potter; and nephew, Christopher Potter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gail Potter of Avon, NY; son, Sean Potter of Rochester, NY; daughter, Heather Hartley of Avon, NY; grandchildren, Kiara Sanchez (Angel Rodriguez), Vincent Diaz, and Nevaiyah Diaz, all of Avon, NY; great-grandchildren, Kehlani and Soleya Rodriguez; brother, Robert Potter Jr. (Adele) of Fort Ann, NY; aunt, Carol Reece (Art) of Brick, NJ; sister-in-law, Deborah Potter of Pine Bush, NY; nephew, Ryan Potter of Pine Bush, NY; cousins, Jim Zimmerman (Trish) of Oakland, NJ, Scott Zimmerman of Brick, NJ, Kelly Zimmerman Giacomelli of Ramsey, NJ and several great nieces and nephews.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Westwood Cemetery, 23 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675.

A special thank you to the local Volunteer Rescue Squads, medical staff at Irongate and GFH and Warren County Sheriffs who assisted after his passing.
