Chestertown --- Leeroy Prosser Sr., longtime Warrensburg resident, and more recently of Chestertown, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, unexpectedly at the age of 74 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Curtis Prosser and Ruth (Putnam) welcomed their baby boy into this world on December 8, 1946 in Moriah, N.Y.

Leeroy attended school in Warrensburg and spent many years working at Baker's Sawmill prior to his retirement. He loved hunting and fishing, camping, and playing jokes on people.

On May 2, 2020, he married Margaret I. (Tower) in Crown Point, N.Y., and they had just celebrated their first anniversary together.

In addition to his parents, Leeroy was predeceased by his first wife, Lois (Cheney), and their daughter, Wendy Scoville, and son, Leeroy Prosser II, as well as two brothers, Arthur and Darryl Prosser, and a sister-in-law, Wendy Barrett Prosser.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Prosser of Chestertown; his children, Lois, Angela, Tanya, Pamela, Roy, Nicholas, and Leeroy Jr.; also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

A brief graveside ceremony will take place Wednesday, July 21, at 12:30 p.m. at Warrensburg Cemetery.
