He worked as a long distance truck driver for various companies, and like to "putter around" at his workbench, taking scenic drives, and spending time and traveling with his beloved Eva.

After his retirement, many wonderful summers were spent at Evergreen Campground and eventually Ledgeview Campground in Lake George. Leo enjoyed greeting visitors to the park and was affectionately known as "the mayor" of Ledgeview. He loved the pine treed setting so much that their permanent home was built in Ledgeview Village.
