WHITEHALL --- Leon M. Ramsey, 59, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, with his brother and son by his side.
Born November 17, 1962 in Glens Falls he was the son of the late Ernest Ramsey and Marion (Daly) Hopkins.
Leon worked for many jobs over the years. His favorite of them all was driving for Tri County and was always known as "The Hat Man".
Some of his enjoyments in life were to go fishing, crochet, and watching the Green Jackets football games when they played at East Field in Glens Falls. Leon's favorite players was number 21, Q. On the third of every month, Leon looked forward to spending the day with his brother Terry Hopkins, visiting and having lunch at Pete's Diner.
Leon also had a famous quote that he would always say "T.T.F.U" and that he lived by that himself.
In addition to his parents, Leon was predeceased by his step-mother, Joan Ramsey; step-father, Donald Hopkins; brother, Michael Ramsey; sister, Eleanor LaFrieniere; and sister-in-law, Kelly Hopkins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Andrew Ramsey of Schenectady, Valerie Ramsey of Schenectady, and Rachel (Andy) Paige of Schenectady; granddaughter, Arabella Paige of Schenectady; sister, Tine (Don) Tolle of Oregon; brothers, Terry Hopkins of Glens Falls, Fred (Mary) Hopkins of Corinth, Ernest (Dorothy) Ramsey of Warrensburg, Louis (Kyle) Barrett of Warrensburg, and Kenneth (Lynda) Barrett of Washington; brother-in-law, Ted LaFrieniere of South Glens Falls; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Leon was named "Chi Chi" by a very special little girl, who he always said was his baby, Khloe Pultorak.
Visitation will take place Friday, November 25 at 4 P.M. to 5 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A gathering will take place after the visitation at his brother, Terry Hopkin's residence, 50A Broad Street, Glens Falls, NY, 12801.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Gillani at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center and to all the nurses at Glens Falls Hospital on Tower 2 oncology.
