QUEENSBURY --- Leonard "Len" Herbert St. Louis, 81, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born April 7, 1935, in Plattsburgh, New York, he was the son of the late Fred and Melina (King) St. Louis.
Leonard attended Mount Assumption Institute (MAI) later known as Seton Catholic Central School.
Following his service in the U.S. Army, he attended a photography institute in New York City and worked as a professional photographer with Blair and Webber Studio in Plattsburgh. He was also a licensed electrician and owned several businesses throughout his lifetime.
He served as a part-time deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff's Department.
He was a certified NRA instructor, avid hunter and sportsman. He retired as an owner of H and L Snacks in Schenectady.
He married the love of his life, the late Joyce Anne (Macey) St. Louis and raised their family together.
Leonard was a member of the B.P.O.E. Queensbury Lodge. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking in the Adirondack mountains. His hobbies included woodworking, collecting firearms, and reloading ammunition. Leonard was proud of his extensive and meticulously maintained collection of miniature model cars.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife, three brothers, Joseph Bernard, Joseph Larry, Edgar "Tut" William, and one sister, Marie (Goddeau), and one granddaughter.
He is survived by six children, Jane Ann (Donivan), Jeffery Lynn, Paul Patrick, David Brian, Todd Alan, and Tammy Susan; seventeen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. After the passing of his wife, Leonard spent the remainder of his years with his loving companion Joy LeGault, whom he is survived by.
There will be no public calling hours.
Cremation will be in accordance with the wishes of the deceased and interment will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Garden, Plattsburgh, N.Y.
