Madeline
Storm
Aug 9, 1939 — Jan 21, 2018
GREENWICH -- Madeline Storm, 78, crossed over Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by close friends.
Born Aug. 9, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward Schaffert and mother, Marion (Nolan) Schaffert.
Madeline studied at Penn State for poultry industry, and traveled a lot, she also lived in a lot of locations.
Maddie was an avid horse lover, owned a few horses, also owned business "Bits and Pieces" in Gansevoort, where she would tell her customers old time stories. Madeline was an amazing woman, ahead of her time was a wild, hard to tame spirit, like a mustang, and she loved her cowboys.
She was truly loved by everyone she met and was very knowledgeable about the equine industry. She also loved to party at the Tank "Jury" Motorcycle Clubhouse and made a lot of friends there.
In her last years, Madeline lived in Greenwich in a tiny cabin out in the woods with her chickens and beloved dog, Belle.
Madeline is survived by her only brother, Kim Schaffert of Pennsylvania; and a niece, Seva Schaffert of New Jersey.
There will be no calling hours at Madeline's request. Instead, we will be doing a celebration of life, on Feb. 11, 2018 at noon at the Jury Motorcycle Clubhouse on Route 196 in Hudson Falls NY, contact Sue Sheppard, or Cindy Marshall for details. Madeline will be leaving her friends with a bang.
Any contributions in memory can be made to Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, P.O. Box 834, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, or Peaceful Acres Rescue, 3740 Rynex Corner Rd., Pattersonville, NY 12137.
Family would like to thank her close friends Ray and Cindy Marshall, Barbara Peters, Cindy Heidroff, Sue Sheppard, and Glens Falls Hospital ICU nurses.
Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
