QUEENSBURY --- Margaret I. Batease, 93, passed away following a long illness, Tuesday, October 7, 2025, with loved ones by her side.

Born January 26, 1932, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of William and Leona (Chase) Lanfear.

She was a court clerk for Judge Leggett in Chestertown and worked for Office for the Aging in Warren County.

Margaret married Floyd G. Batease on November 11, 1951, in Hudson Falls.

She enjoyed singing with the choir, cooking, traveling, trips to Palmetto, Florida during the winter, and spending time with family and friends. Margaret had an adventurous spirit and generous heart. She especially loved her home on Haviland Road in Queensbury, watching her children and grandchildren playing and fishing in the pond, and watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Floyd G. Batease; siblings, Robert Lanfear, Helen McDermott, Alma McDermott, Patricia Shippey, and Craig Lanfear; and grandparents, Daniel and Nellie (Mattison) Chase.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Colleen (Jack) Davis, Debbie (Willie) StAmour, Janet (Al) Kinderman, and Glenn (Kyle Bryce) Batease; grandchildren, Cassie Shea, Jackson Davis, Jason (Brooke) Kinderman, Brandon (Annie) Kinderman, Andrea (Michael) Kinderman-Galeno, Ian Lewis, Heather (John) Taylor, Brooke (Justin) Rouse, and Brady (Ivana Stavreva) Batease; eight great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Tiffany Guay officiating. A gathering will be held following the service at the Elks Lodge, 32 Cronin Rd, Queensbury.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 23 at 11 a.m. at North Caldwell Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to High Peaks Hospice, especially her nurses, Courtney and JoAnne; Aimee McMaster, Margaret's nurse from Homeward Bound at HHHN; and Carol Reed, a very special friend and neighbor.
