QUEENSBURY--- Margaret S. DeMarinis, 88, of Whispering Pines, Queensbury, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2013, at House of Grace of the Adirondacks in Glens Falls, after a long bout with cancer.
Born April 4, 1925 in Nidda, Hessen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Hedwig (Eisele) Scheu.
After living in New York City for 18 years, Margaret and her husband, Dominick, moved to South Glens Falls in 1971. For several years they operated a motel until his death in 1982.
Margaret enjoyed gardening and was an avid traveler. For many years, she participated in arts and crafts at Moreau Community Center. In her later years, she joined the Glens Falls Senior Center.
She was a communicant of Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dominick DeMarinis.
Margaret is survived by several nieces and nephews in Germany, Santiago and Valdiona, Chile, South America, and also her friends here in the U.S.
At her request, there will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 2, at 11 a.m. at Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, with the Rev. Joseph Busch, officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Rd., Queensbury.
