QUEENSBURY: Margaret L. Evans-Norman, 71, of Cedar Court, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Regency Hospital West, Middleburg Heights, OH after a long illness.
Born July 12, 1945 in Utica, NY she was the daughter of John and Cecilia Rose (Morris) Evans.
Margaret attended grade school at St. Mary's in Rome, NY and graduated High School from Rome Free Academy in 1963. She truly enjoyed her high school class reunions, which she attended every five years.
Margaret was a communicant at Sacred Heart Church in Lake George where she also taught Religious Education.
She worked as a receptionist at Ralph Tardugno's Dental Office in Rome and more recently, for Evergreen Bank, now known as TD Bank, as a teller in both Warrensburg and Queensbury.
She was the designer/owner of the Beadazzeled jewelry line. She especially loved making jewelry for her family and friends.
Above all she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was fondly known as "Bama" to her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
Margaret is predeceased by her father, John Evans Sr.; three siblings, Sharon Evans only 4 years old, Timmy and Gene Evans, both infant brothers; and the father of her children, Augustine Correia.
Left to cherish her memory are her hugely devoted husband of 33 years, William "Bill" Norman of Queensbury; her mother, Cecilia Rose Morse Evans of Camden, NY who fondly is referred to as "Midgie"; three children, Michael Correia, Michelle (Steve) Correia Cornwell, Melony (Rino) Correia Longhitano; nine grandchildren, Joshua, T.J., Jacob, Sam and Benjamin Bedosky, Hayley Correia, Augustine, Lucas and Max Longhitano; five siblings, who were very close and dear to her, Linda Anair, Mary McNeil, John (Patricia) Evans Jr., Sally (Richard) Evans Arthur, Susan (Douglas) Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She will be carried to her final resting place by her beloved grandsons, Joshua, T.J., Jacob, Sam, Benjamin, Augustine, Lucas, and accompanied by Hayley and Max.
Calling hours will take place Wednesday, July 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY.
Additionally, visitation will be held Thursday, July 21 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church 210 W. Liberty St., Rome, NY.
A funeral Mass will follow visitation at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.
A private burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton, NY.
