Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Margaret B. Fitzgerald, 93, of Queensbury, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 at Westmount Health Facility.

Born June 7, 1921 in Mineville, N.Y., she was the daughter of John and Hattie (Genier) Brennan.

Margaret graduated from Champlain Valley Hospital in Plattsburgh.
She enlisted in the United States Army in March, 1943, serving as a nurse during World War II in the European Theater, and was honorably discharged as First Lieutenant Sept., 1945.

For many years, Margaret worked as a registered nurse at the Veteran's Hospital in White River Junction, Vt.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Baron.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, George "Baron" Fitzgerald, two brothers, Richard Brennan of Lake George, and Jack Brennan of Mineville, N.Y., and two sisters, Sister Mary Brennan of Yardley, Pa., and Dorothy Huchro of Glens Falls.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two brothers, Michael and Robert Brennan, both of Queensbury, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls, with the Rev. Joseph Manerowski officiating.

Burial, with military honors, will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
