ALBANY --- Margaret "Peggy" (Gleim) Florance, 93, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ late Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024.

She was born February 21, 1931, in Orange, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Grete (Koch) Gleim.

Growing up in Bloomfield, New Jersey, Peggy graduated from Bloomfield High School and St. Mary's Hospital for Children in Norwalk, Connecticut.

She married Robert L. Florance on February 7, 1953, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomfield, N.J. She was a devoted wife for 59 years; as well as, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Peggy was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monroe, N.Y., a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Point Pleasant, New Jersey and most recently a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Saratoga Springs, where she was a Stephen Minister and a Eucharistic Assistant.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Florance; daughter, Susan A. Walters; sister-in-law, Joan Gleim; and brother, William P. Gleim.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, William D. Florance (Louise), and Robert J. Florance (Susan); granddaughters, Amanda Scott (Doug), Sarah Florance, Heather Walters and Laura Stephenson (Josh); step-great-grandson, Christopher Staples (Lori); great-grandson, Bryan Scott; great-granddaughters, Joanna, Abigail, Alexandra, and Hailey Stephenson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will take place Monday, July 29, 2024, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

A funeral will immediately follow at the church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Adam Wiegand officiating.

A graveside ceremony will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nursing staff at Shakers Point and to Pastor Adam Wiegand.
