HUDSON FALLS--- Marguerite "Maggie" Mary Sweet, 79, passed away on July 23, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on September 22, 1945, in Glens Falls, New York, Maggie Was the daughter of Urban and Elizabeth Fontaine. She grew up surrounded by family and carried values and dedication with her throughout her life. Maggie spent many years working as a bartender at Mernie's Pub, where she found joy in connecting with the people she served. Her warm presence behind the bar made her a familiar and beloved figure to many in the community. Maggie also loved her pool. She loved having everyone over to enjoy it, she taught a lot of people how to swim there.

In addition to her parents, Maggie was predeceased by her siblings, Morris Fontaine and Alma Cummings.

Maggie was a devoted wife to Frederick M. Sweet and a loving mother to her daughters, Rose M. Sweet and Valarie A. Sweet. Her grandson, Jacob C. Galusha, brought her great pride and happiness.  Maggie cherished time spent with family-especially during gatherings and brought everyone joy.
