Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Marianne Lyons, 79, of Bonner Dr., Queensbury, passed away suddenly Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 9, 1938 in Glens Falls, she was the only child of the late Glen and Edith (Harris) Jones.

She was a graduate of Glens Falls High School and Russell Sage College for Nursing.

Fifty three years ago in Glens Falls, she married Gerald Lyons on April 5, 1964 at St. Alphonsus Church.

Marianne lived and worked as a registered nurse in Palo Alto, California, for a year before returning to Glens Falls to marry her love, Jerry. She retired from Glens Falls Hospital following a 43 year nursing career.

Some of her enjoyments included playing cards and socializing with friends and family. For many years, Marianne was a regular league bowler with the Tuesday Afternoon Matinee Dolls. She was also an avid Yankees fan.

In addition to her parents, Marianne was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Tommy Lyons.

Survivors include her children, Kathy DiFiore (Chris), Kevin Lyons (Sheri), and Todd Lyons; grandchildren, Patrick and Aaron DiFiore, Katelyn and Ashley Lyons, and Benjamin, Lily, and Cameron Lyons.

Calling hours will take place Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

At her request, there will be no funeral service.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Pine View Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Glens Falls Hospital's Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit.
