Obituary

SARATOGA SPRINGS--- Marilyn Kay Booden, 75, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at Loving Home at Fredericks in Schenectady, after a long illness.

Born Jan. 20, 1942 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Marine and Anna (Brunsting) Booden.

Marilyn earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Calvin College, and she also earned a degree in nursing from Adirondack Community College. She was a teacher at Westside Christian School, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She had the privilege of being a homemaker and took great pride in raising her children.

Some of her enjoyments included reading, cross-stitching, knitting, tending to her plants, building puzzles with her family, and skiing. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Marilyn volunteered with the Saratoga Children's Museum, and the Saratoga Homeless Shelter.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by a niece, Tami VanTil.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jim DeNooyer Jr. of West Charlton, Tom (Lisa) DeNooyer of Lake George, Joel DeNooyer of Saratoga Springs, Sarah (Jason) Guzzo of Ballston Lake, and George Dalton of Ballston Lake; grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Lindsey, and Olivia DeNooyer, Jack and Grace Farnan, and Max Guzzo; a sister, Carol VanTil; brothers, John (Carol) Booden and Paul (Marge) Booden; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends are invited to join the family Friday, Jan. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Northway Christian Family Church, 37 Homer Ave., Queensbury.

A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. John Tether, pastor, officiating.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Loving Home at Fredericks for their care and compassion.
