Lake George - Mark Andrew Dupper, born January 21, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully at his home in Lake George on August 19, 2026.
Mark was happily married for 52 years to Jane Mannix Dupper of Lake George and was the father of Kieran Thomas Dupper (Joan Dupper). He is survived by his siblings, Mary Eugene Dupper of Fern Park, Florida, and Michael Dupper of Oxford, Mississippi. He was predeceased by his brother, Thaddeus Dupper of Castle Rock, Colorado.
A career educator, Mark began his teaching career in New York City's parochial and public schools, where he taught for seven years before moving north. He spent the next 33 years in the English Department at Queensbury High School, retiring in 2012. Mark was particularly proud of his work coaching the Varsity Academic Bowl Team and the QHS Riflery Team, leading both to significant and consistent success.
Following his retirement from teaching, Mark continued working as a Sergeant Peace Officer with the New York Racing Association, a position he held for 50 years.
Throughout his life, Mark was an avid collector and admirer of model kits and diecast cars and planes, as well as antique automobiles. During his college years and shortly thereafter, he was a guitar player with The Good Time Hit and Run Jug Band. Mark was a proud graduate of Le Moyne College, Class of 1971, and an even prouder graduate of Brooklyn Prep, Class of 1967. He remained an active member of the Brooklyn Prep Alumni Association.
Mark and his family would like to extend their special thanks to the nurses and staff of High Peaks Hospice and Neighbors NY, as well as to his nurse, Amy Jo Sokol, and his dear friend, Pat Smith, for their exceptional care and companionship.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in Queensbury 11 Lafayette St. Queensbury, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 24, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation in Queensbury, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
