FORT EDWARD --- Mark E. Maxam, 57, of Fort Edward passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 30, 2017.

Born January 10, 1960, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Edwin Maxam and the late Joan Breen Maxam.

Mark graduated from South Glens Falls Senior High School in 1978. He was a groundskeeper and a custodian for the school district for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and he was a diehard Washington Red Skins fan.

Mark is survived by his wife, Barbara Maxam; his father, Edwin Maxam and his companion Sylvia McCall of South Glens Falls; four sisters, Lisa Stone and her companion Jeff Hoffer, MaryJo Taylor and her husband Dennis, and Carolyn Bannon and her husband Edward, all of South Glens Falls, and Lynne Gill and her husband Rusty of Fort Edward; three brothers, Michael Blair of Fort Edward, Roger Maxam of Chestertown, and David Maxam of South Glens Falls; two granddaughters, fourteen nieces and nephews, several great nieces, and nephews, and cousins. Mark is also survived by his special friends, Jim and Lois Cardinale and his friends at O'Malley's Log Grille.

Calling hours will take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 4 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Sally Scuderi, Director of Music Ministry officiating.

A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family.
