GLENS FALLS-- Marnette Hance, 103, a former resident of Orville St. Glens Falls, and most recently of the Fort Hudson Nursing Center, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2014 at the Center in Fort Edward.
Born May 21, 1910 in West Pawlet, Vt., Marnette was the daughter of the late William and Mary "Mame" Williams.
Marnette grew up in Granville where she met and married Alfred Hance. They had five children together and moved to Glens Falls.
Up until her last days, Marnette was an avid BINGO player.
In addition to her parents, Marnette was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Hance; two daughters, Lillian Dunlavey and Alberta Cavanaugh; a son, William Hance; a grandson, Richard Dunlavey, and a great-grandson, Chris Sherman.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Sherman; a son, Robert Hance; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Marnettes request there will be no calling hours or service.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Rick Yancy of Faith Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
