Obituary

QUEENSBURY – Marti Moriah Coyle, 74, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

Born in Glendale, CA as Patricia Ann on January 1, 1941, she was the daughter of Martin J. and Martha (McGary) Coyle. A California girl from the start, Marti grew up on the west coast but also traveled various places with her parents as her father served in the U.S. Army.

Life was never dull and after graduating from high school in Yokohama, Japan Marti went on to college and studied to be a nurse in NYC. Graduation led to her enlistment into the Army as a nurse and being posted to Letterman Hospital in San Francisco. She served there until her honorable discharge and her career moved her back to New York.

Marti married Dr. P.V. Dmowski and had a son, Andrezj. They moved their family to Hyde Park Chicago where she studied English Literature at the University of Chicago. After her divorce she changed her name to Marti Moriah Coyle, to honor her parents and for the rhythm of the name.

For several years Marti worked at the West Side Medical Center in Chicago until her health prevented her continuing. She became a semi-truck driver and ended up back in Virginia with her father.

After his passing she moved to Illinois to be with her fiancé, Jim Tubbs.

Marti and Jim traveled for many years together. During that time she received her BFA in 2006 from Northern Illinois University. She majored in Fine Arts and became an accomplished etcher, showing her work at art fairs for years. Yearning for the mountains, tiring of the flat Midwest, they moved back east and found themselves minutes from the Adirondacks in any direction centered in Glens Falls.

Marti is predeceased by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved fiancé, James Tubbs, her son, family, and friends.

At this time there will be no services at the request of her family.

Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804 or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
