Obituary

GLENS FALLS --- Mary Louise Beaupre, 82, of Ridge St., Glens Falls, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at her home.

Born March 18, 1936 in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of Anthony B. and Dorothy (Penders) Girard.

In 1953, she married David Beaupre at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls, where they were members for many years. Most recently, they attended St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls.

For many years, Mary was a baker at Glens Falls High School. She was very active in St. Anne's Sodality and taught religious education at St. Alphonsus.

Some of her enjoyments included sewing, watching her wild birds outside her home, and her flowers. She loved her YMCA Silver Sneakers group and her Fab Four group, visiting Crandall Library and The Spot visiting with her friends.

In addition to his parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, David F. Beaupre Jr., who died in 2014; two grandchildren, Steven and Scott Nicholson; two great-grandchildren, Teddy and Alexis Nicholson; a sister, Nancy Lee Wells; and two brothers, Pasquel A. Girard and Anthony "Tony" Girard.

Those left to cherish her memory are her five children, David (Margaret) Beaupre of Georgia, Ann (Harold) Nicholson of Gansevoort, Judi (Mark) Cleveland of South Glens Falls, Mary Beth (Doug) Gaulin of Ft. Ann, and Renee (Tim) Rupeka of Tennesee; 10 loving grandchildren; 15 special great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Giraldi of Queensbury; brother, Gerald "Jerry" G. (Helen) Girard; also several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Glens Falls, with the Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor, officiating.

A graveside service will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Queensbury.

Friends are invited to join the family at a gathering at the church following the graveside service.

In loving memory of Mary, contributions may be made to the Crandall Public Library, 251 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801 or to St. Michael's Catholic Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the girls at the Crandall Library for their kindness, her brother Jerry who faithfully visited Mary twice a day every day, and her support team, Joanne "Jody" Schempp, Alberta "Pete" Sweet, and Joanne Leahy.
