GLENS FALLS – Mary C. Butler, 55, of Glens Falls passed away suddenly Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Kingston Hospital.
Born at Glens Falls Hospital on October 20, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Roberta (Rice) Comeau.
Mary attended Queensbury High School and later received her GED.
On September 25, 1982 she married the love of her life, Bert Butler, in Wethersfield, VT.
Mary was a devoted homemaker who cherished her family, friends, and her pet birds.
Collecting lighthouse knick-knacks was one of her passions, as well as arts and crafts, knitting, cross stitching, scrap booking, and creating beautiful master pieces. She also loved all kinds of puzzles.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Bert, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Ernest Comeau Jr., sister, Gail Comeau-Burt, and extended family, Priscilla Hauser.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Jennifer "Jenny" Hauser and her husband, Jay, of Glens Falls; a stepson, Bert Butler Jr. of Glens Falls; a stepdaughter, Lisa Laratta of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, Cambria and her husband, Chris, Dylan, Lauren, Jayden, Jacob, and Gloria; a sister, Kathy Mullins and her husband, Danny, of Boston, Mass.; a brother, David Comeau; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many friends.
Special mention to her cousin and best friend, Irma Hamblin and her husband, Jeffery Sr., of Glens Falls, extended family, Keith Hauser of Glens Falls, Eric Hauser of Boston, Mass., and special family friends, Deska and Dan Sheehan of Ft. Edward.
Friends may call upon the family Thursday, August 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Flossie Gage Bates officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Luzerne Rd., Queensbury.
Donations in loving memory of Mary, to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1 Marcus Blvd., Albany, NY 12205 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
